General Environment Affects Dell Inc. Position



Reflecting the evolution of the company :

The company in 2003 is a way of reflection its driver's supplier of technology products and services. But the problem is that increasing competition and cost pressure it's began to erode Dell's margin. Even though the company's net revenue continued to increase to $ 57.4 billion in a fiscal year.



Economic Recession :

By 2006,the once  torrid growth in PC sales had slowed to about 5% a year . Sales fell significantly during the Economic recession  of 2008-2009. for that reason Dell's Found ways to reduce its cost and fight its way back to profitability .And additionally by driving down supplier costs, Dell also reduced its rival cost with all general environment . Dell is now battling with Ac er  for second place in Global PC market share

Bargaining power of Buyer for Dell Inc is moderate. 











Bargaining Power of Supplier-

2Bargaining power of supplier is high because supplier are mostly satisfied to produce this kind of product.They were vulnerable to dell making a profit on smaller margins.Dell drove down costs further by perfecting its manufacturing process and using its buying power to obtain cheaper parts.That's why they were able to make a tremendous success for the betterment.







 Threats of new entrants - 

Dell's have been facing a number of threats of new entrants such as service oriented rivals like IBM,HP and ORACLE had an advantage over Dell.All of these competitors had made large commitments to service,software and counseling all having higher margins then personal computers.

 Rivalry among competing firms:
Dell's competitors had initiated Dell's direct marketing model but were also successfully selling through retail outlets.Competitors were becoming increasing competitive in both desktop and mobile computers.







   Threats of Substitue products -
   It has threats of substitute products like Laptop, Hard drive and printer also.







 External Forces :

 Market and Market Demand:
to gain more market share in a highly competitive market ,Dell's some operation already gone across the country.As per their demand the company was able organized from geographical structure into four global business units.

New Market:
Although Dell's corporate headquarters was located in round Rock, Texas,near Austin around national & international segments.

Alliances:
 Micheal Dell began assembling his own computers in 1985 and marketed them through ads in computer trade publications. Its launched its first catalog but for the betterment they  have engaged some portions in home and abroad.
